Management
Our Environmental Management processes and systems addresses the need for environmental safeguards and the adoption of environmental sensitive work practices. They are developed against environmental regulatory requirements and contract requirements.
Project Managers are responsible for:
-
Undertaking all environmental inspections, analysing risk and hazards.
-
Keeping appropriate records.
-
Implementing processes and procedures.
-
Selecting sustainable and environmentally-safe products and services.
-
Ensuring that products and services meet specified requirements.
If any environmentally sensitive areas are identified in the course of a project, the Project Manager will ensure that appropriate environmental protection measures are implemented on works undertaken within those areas.
These requirements are added to the pre-work risk assessment (JSEA/SWMS) and PMP and are communicated with all staff.
Training
Our in-house training programs ensure that managers are equipped with the skills to meet regulatory requirements when dealing with the purchasing and disposal of materials and services.
All trades staff attend routine training and safety meetings to ensure they understand the health and safety risks associated with their work, the materials they use, and the measures they must follow or implement to control or minimise their exposure to those risks as well as to assure public safety.
Users of hazardous substances are trained in the potential health effects of hazardous substances, environmental implications, the requirements for safe handling, storage and disposal of hazardous substances and in interpreting and applying Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Purchasing and Procurement
Nu Style FM has a responsibility to ensure that purchased products and services meet specified requirements and that all purchased or hired goods, substances, materials, plant and equipment required for the delivery of a contract comply with standards and regulations for environmental protection and sustainable practice.
Prior to commencing works, an Environment impact assessment is carried out, identifying any sensitive area requiring protection, any environmental impact of the proposed works, and necessary control measures.
When purchasing products and services for a contract, our Project Managers will ensure that:

-
Purchased products and services meet the specified requirements dictated by the contract, including any environmental stipulations.
-
Suppliers and service providers are evaluated and selected based on their ability to supply products and services that meet the specified requirements.
-
Approvals are obtained, as appropriate, before products and services are purchased.
-
The conformance of purchased products is verified when the product is delivered.
-
Environmental implications have been assessed and risk control measures put in place.
Sourcing Local
Nu Style FM actively seeks to support and engage local industries.
By sourcing our products and services from local businesses and resources, we seek to both support local economy, Australian products, and reduce our impact on the environment due to excessive transportation, shipping and production costs.
By cultivating close communication channels with our local suppliers, we are also able to secure products, encourage local demand and industry, and maintain a stable and environmentally sustainable supply of parts and services without having to resort to imports.
